Submit message templates

How to submit message templates

Each WhatsApp Business Account requires its own set of message templates for use with DiscoCrate. You need to create two specific types/category of templates:

Opt-in Confirmation: This message template is sent immediately to customers after they opt-in using their WhatsApp number via our widget on your Shopify store for an out-of-stock product. After receiving the opt-in confirmation, customers will tap a button within the message to confirm that they want to receive back-in-stock notifications.

Back-in-Stock Reminder: This message template is automatically sent to customers to inform them that the product they subscribed to is now back in stock.

Both templates are customizable and can incorporate dynamic content to make the messages more personalized for your customers.

Each template saved and submitted will be reviewed by Meta. Once the message template is approved, you'll be able to start sending it to customers.

Below are steps to help you create each template:

Opt-in confirmation

  1. Go to the left side navigation panel, select Templates, and then click on Create template at the top right.
  2. For Category, choose Opt-in Confirmation.
  3. In the Name section, enter a name for your template. This will help you organize and locate it easily later.
  4. Select the language(s) your template should support, based on the customer's phone number country code. You'll need to complete all required fields for each language you select in order submit for review.
  5. Optionally, add a Header to your template. You can choose to include text, a static image, a video, or a dynamic product image from your catalog. This helps customers see an image of the item they are subscribing to.
  6. Fill in the Body of your message with the necessary text. You can also include dynamic variables to further personalise message text.
  7. Note that the Footer and Buttons sections cannot be edited as they are mandatory. Also, the language in these sections will automatically be translated to match each language version of your template.
  8. Bottom right, click on Submit and follow the next prompt to send your message template for review with Meta.

  1. Return to the main Templates page, and then click on Create template at the top right.

After you've submitted your templates for review, we recommend refreshing your browser page to check the status of your pending message templates. In some cases, the review process might take up to 24 hours, but typically, Meta completes reviews within the first 5-10 minutes of submission. You can view the review status of each Template by using the category drop-down menu.

  1. Find the message template you wish to use for each catageory using the drop-down menu on the Template main page.
  2. Ensure the message template status is Approved.
  3. Click on Turn on to assign it as the message template for the cataegory.
