Overview
Things you should know before you start
👋 Welcome to DiscoCrate! This guide will help you understand the basics of DiscoCrate and how to get started. Before diving into setting up DiscoCrate, you should know the 3 key concepts that make up DiscoCrate:
- WhatsApp Business Account lets you communicate with customers using your phone number.
- Templates are pre-approved messages that you send to customers.
- Widgets let you collect customer phone numbers from your Shopify store.
To set up DiscoCrate successfully, you need to understand how these concepts work together.
WhatsApp Business Account
A WhatsApp Business Account allows your business to communicate directly with your customers. This account will be owned by your business and will sit in your Meta Business Manager. Once you've created your WhatsApp Business Account, you will then be able to add your phone number to the account.
The phone number will allow you to communicate with customers using a business profile that makes it easy for customers to see important information about your brand. Customers can see your business name, description, address, business hours, and category.
Your WhatsApp Business Account will then be connected to the DiscoCrate app.
Templates
Template messages are stored in your WhatsApp Business Account and can only be sent to customers who have opted-in by providing their phone number. Each template must be approved by Meta before use.
Template messages include a header, body, footer, and call-to-action buttons, with options to add text, images, and videos. You can create and edit unlimited templates.
Widgets
A widget is a small tool that is added to your Shopify store that lets customers sign up with their WhatsApp phone number to receive messages from your business. These widgets are integrated into your Shopify theme and can are fully customisable to match your branding using Shopify's theme editor.
